SERVICES
LENS Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback is an umbrella terms form many different types of therapies. The primary service I offer is a unique type of EEG technology called the LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System). It is a specialized service only offered by 2 practitioners in the whole Okanagan/Shuswap area.

LENS is a direct form of neurofeedback, meaning the client does not have to do any "work" during the appointments. It works by identifying and lifting brainwave suppression, which often stems from past physical & emotional trauma. LENS gathers brainwave data in real time and simultaneously emits a frequency which gently disrupts these "stuck" patterns, allowing for new neural pathways to be created.

It has been proven to be helpful for many physical, emotional, & cognitive issues. Clients have seen improvements in ADHD, chronic pain, concussions, traumatic brain injuries, anxiety, treatment resistant depression, tics & tremors, seizures, mood disorders, PTSD, hyper-vigilance, chronic fatigue, hyper-reactivity, nightmares, motor control, and more. It is also beneficial for peak performance in athletics or academics.
Standard treatment is 10-12 weekly appointments. Some clients only wish to come for a few until their symptoms have resolved. Others see such positive results that they continue on afterwards on a monthly bases.

HYPNOTHERAPY
Hypnotherapy uses various techniques to help guide the analytical part of the mind to the side in order to connect more directly to the subconscious mind. Sessions may remind you of relaxing guided meditations you've tried before but in hypnotherapy appointments, there is usually an interactive conversation which is specific only to you and your goals.
It can be used for a wide variety of things ranging from fears, anxieties, and phobias, to personal and spiritual growth. It can be used for breaking unwanted habits and for resolving physical pains. Hypnotherapy sessions can be in person or virtual, from the comfort of the client's own home. Appointments may consist of (Mental) Exposure Therapy, Parts Work, Somatic Therapy, or Age Regression.

EMDR
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy used to help individuals process and alleviate distressing symptoms associated with traumatic experiences. It can be used for past, present, or future events. It can be an effective treatment for phobias, fears, nightmares, general anxiety, and more. EMDR can also be used for physical symptoms too such as chronic pain, and even phantom pain.
During an EMDR session, clients are directed through a bilateral stimulation (BLS) process. Usually BLS is done with eye movements, but it can also be done with tapping or handheld buzzers. Back and forth eye movements mimics what our eyes do during the REM (rapid eye movement) sleep stage, which is when our brains do a lot of processing. During EMDR, the brain will automatically jump to other relevant memories or feelings which effectively means emotional processing for the whole associated neural network. EMDR can be done in person or virtually.
